Bio
Michael has always enjoyed drawing and painting but rarely found the time or space for it while working in Market Research for over 40 years. Since retiring in 2021 he has become a little more prolific, mainly working from photographs, with a style that borders on 'photo-realism'.
Michael showed his work publicly for the first time in the 2022 Art In the Park and shared first place in the the ‘People’s Choice Award for ‘Frog Martini’ (which also sold) and received ‘Honorable Mention’ in the UPCAI challenge for 'Tranquil Gazebo'. One of his entries in 2023 ‘on the rocks’ received 2nd place award (and also sold, along with another of his paintings - "Splashdown")
Michael's paintings are often inspired by water or some form of liquid. Not only is water an element that humans are naturally attracted to...but he loves the challenge of depicting the dynamism of liquids in a two dimensional static medium. You can be the judge of how successful he is in this endeavor!
